Now aday, Most of our Karen youth from Burma,especially in the cities are not knowing anything about Karen History.This is due to the enviroment that they have been brought up.We all know that Burmese Government is chauvinism, showing that there are officially no indigenous language schools in Burma and it is forbidden and not allow to teach it. Moreover, the Burmese Government only promotes on Burman culture and medias ,such as TV, Radio, News, etc.If you can not speak, read and write your own language is like a tree without a shoot. You will lose your initiative, creativity, communication and after all,"A Karen without a soul".Once I spoke to a friend of mine who's from Singapore. After a few conversation, she was refering her grandfather as a racist, because he told her not to visit his home due to the fact that she can not speak Karen. From my point of view, it is the system that the government is running.There are a lot of things I want to say but for now , I want to deliver a message to the Karen people around the world is, 'Karen around the world unite'.
